I’m Tiffanie, Tera’s best friend and cousin. Here is their story:

Our journey in attempting to grow our family began in 2021. After a year and a half of trying to get pregnant and not having any luck, we sought medical help. A large cyst on my ovary was causing extreme levels in my hormones, making my body not viable to carry a baby. After having the cyst drained and waiting another 6 months for my hormones to baseline, we were still facing high levels and no answer as to why. We then completed three cycles of clomid (an oral fertility medication), without any success. At this point we consulted with a fertility specialist. Fast forward 9 months of traveling back and forth between Fort Wayne and Carmel, we have completed 3 unsuccessful IUI cycles, as well as an unsuccessful IVF cycle. We were never prepared for the absolute heart break and gut wrenching feeling of going through years of unexplained infertility. Every month the pain and sadness we feel is disheartening. We are more than ready to welcome new life, born out of our unconditional love. Unfortunately, life is now tight for us (as it must be for everyone else) after our last IVF cycle and paying almost $13,000 out-of-pocket. While we do have some insurance coverage, we have exhausted our lifetime fertility medication coverage and were recently made aware (last week) that this also does not cover several steps in the process. One of our medications (Gonal-F) alone cost $4,000 a pen and we are required to have four of those on-hand, as well as four other types of injections that would be necessary to finish out the entire cycle. We would love to at least give it one more shot and appreciate all of the love and support we have received.
